Tips to get rid of pain naturally

Chronic pain can be very uncomfortable and makes working difficult it also has an impact on family and social time.

Complicating the picture doctors still don’t understand chronic pain, however, they do know what works for one person may not work for another. This is the reason why people often find medication doesn’t quite give them enough relief, and look to natural treatments in addition to their standard treatments, and in some cases to replace them.

Fortunately, there are several natural or holistic methods to quell the pain. Here are 6 ways to put out the fire, without medication or a doctor’s clinic visit.

Next time chronic pain is dragging you down, consider trying a more natural route to relief. And, because pain is individual, ask your healthcare professional for specifics about these treatments, such as doses.

1. Exercise: People who exercise and maintain a good aerobic condition will improve most pain conditions. When you work out, the body produces its own version of painkillers, such as endorphins, hormones that actually increases your pain threshold. If you are in too much pain to exercise, then you may start slowly, and do even a little burst of walking or other activity — then build up.

2. Natural essential oil: Essential oils contain analgesic compounds, meaning they reduce or relieve pain. You can use to stop many types of pain and inflammation.

  • German Chamomile – Contains anti-inflammatory and pain relieving compounds, in addition to having terrific antioxidant compounds. German chamomile is soothing, calming, and has been found to support joint health.
  • Sweet Marjoram – This herb also has sedative compounds that can help relieve muscle pain and muscle spasms, migraines, joint stiffness, osteoarthritis, and rheumatism.
  • Eucalyptus – This strong-smelling oil has analgesic and anti-inflammatory compounds that are good for nerve pain and muscle pain. It will clear out your sinuses at the same time, which can offer you relief from sinus headaches.
  • Rosemary – This is great for back pain, muscle pain, headaches, and joint pain due to its antispasmodic and analgesic compounds.

3. Turmeric: It is also called Curcuma longa, turmeric is basically a root. It’s often found in spicy foods, very much in Indian cooking. Studies have shown it has definite anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Heat Therapy: Using heat as well as cold therapy is time-honored ways to quell pain. Hot Epsom salt baths relax the mind and change the nervous input from the body to the brain. Using ice is a well-accepted modality that decreases inflammation locally.

The key is to know when to use which, for instance, if you twist your ankle and it’s painful and swollen then using heat in this situation will increase blood flow and increase the swelling, so put ice on it right away and if you have lingering back spasms then applying heat would be the best for that.

5. Meditation: Meditation can quell pain, it is an appealing option for treating pain because it has an unusual benefit. Unlike medications or surgical procedures, meditation is not done to you rather it is something you do for yourself.

6. Tapping: Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), is a powerful holistic healing technique that has been proven to effectively resolve a range of issues, including stress, anxiety, phobias, emotional disorders, chronic pain, addiction, weight control, and limiting beliefs, just to name a few.

Tapping is a set of techniques which utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy.
